Access Statement

Building Access

There are three ways to access Marmalade Bed & Breakfast: one directly from the forecourt car park, one from the car park via the side road and one directly from the side road. There is usually room in our car park but, should you wish to be assured of a space, please let us know. The car park has a good quality tarmac surface.

1.      Direct access from the car park is up five steps (maximum height 22.5 centimetres (9 inches)) and then alongside the conservatory to the main entrance. There are no facilities for wheelchairs or mobility scooter users to use this route.

2.      Access may also be made by leaving the car park onto the public pavement and then going along the side road (up a slight incline) to the property’s side gate, which we will be pleased to open for you. This route is about 25 metres (27 yards) long and has no steps. It is suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

3.      The third access is directly from roadside parking to the side gate. Although this is also suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, we cannot guarantee the availability of parking on the public road.

Whatever access route you choose, we will be pleased to assist in any way we can.

Entrance

The building entrance about 5 metres (16 feet) from the side gate. There is one step of height 6 centimetres (2.5 inches), for which we can provide temporary ramping or assistance. The entrance is 85 centimetres (33.5 inches) wide. The second, inner, entrance door is 78.5 centimetres (31 inches) wide.

The entrance and the hall are lit all night.

Guest Rooms

One guest room is on the ground floor and three are on the first floor. The first floor is accessed via a staircase of 16 + 4 steps, each 18 centimetres (7 inches) high. All guest rooms have ensuite shower rooms.

The entrances to all rooms are 71.5 centimetres (28 inches) wide. Entrances to ensuite shower rooms are 74.6 centimetres (29.5 inches) or 66.5 centimetres (26 inches) wide.

All ensuite shower rooms are fitted with standard sanitary ware and showers. There are no baths.

Breakfast Room

The door to the breakfast room is close to the main entrance and is 78.5 centimetres (31 inches) wide.
